WE will be continuing our journey through the laws and customs of Yom Tov, with Chapter 3 of Beitzah

The chapter concerns types of work forbidden on Yom Tov – this is due to the confluence of several isues including issues of muktzeh (not being able to move items that were not specifically identified prior to the festival), and the prohinition of doing massive work (e.g. harvesting, plowing, building); however, we need to be cognizant of doing  some tasks in smaller “bites” such as carrying wood for a fire ((permitted to cokk food on Y’T; however, on the festival we are supposed to carry the logs in one and twos- small batches that will not leave the impression thaat one is doing true labor on the festival.
