Beth El-The Heights Synagogue builds vibrant Jewish community. We welcome all in participatory, traditional, egalitarian worship and learning.

Beth El-The Heights Synagogue

Members pray and learn together, spend Shabbat together, and celebrate holidays and simchas together. Families and individuals get to know one another in a warm, intimate, and welcoming environment which supports lifelong Jewish learning and growth. Our spiritual leader is Rabbi Michael Ungar.

Shabbat services begin each Saturday at 9:15ᴀᴍ. Masks are optional. Vaccinations are required for all eligible persons.

Services are also streamed for those not attending in person.

Refugee Shabbat – March 14

9:15 AM – Shabbat morning services with streaming.

~11:15 AM – Niggun Circle let by Rabbi Micah Shapiro in the Community Room during the Torah reading.

12:15 PM – Kiddush Lunch — and Learn! A speaker from AMIS (Americans Making Immigrants Safe) will have information about the organization and about opportunities to help out. AMIS is a local organization which works with vulnerable immigrants to support them in many different ways.

Kabbalat Shabbat – March 20 @6:30 PM

Enjoy a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat service, a delicious dinner (pescatarian and vegetarian-friendly), and after dinner. Rabbi Bec Richman will be our teacher for the evening and will discuss scribing Torah as a mother. She will share about the parts of Torah she is scribing for Beth El, as well as excerpts from the book she is writing about this journey. If staying for dinner the suggested donation is $15/person, $7/kids, under 6 are free. Use the “Donate” button or send in a check by Tuesday, March 18.
