Course Description and Goals
Using a variety of texts, students will practice fundamental concepts of cantillation to build proficiency with the Masoretic cantillation system through technical discussions and examples. The goals of this course are to help students: (1) develop a technical understanding of the cantillation system; (2) build skills to render clear articulation of Jewish sacred texts; (3) develop strategies for preparing public readings; and (4) improve reading fluency and stamina.
