There is a tradition of studying mishna in honor of a recently deceased person. I would encourage you to study a chapter of mishna in honor of those murdered in Sydney, Australia or someone in your family or someone you know during the first 30 days, and on their Yahrzeit.
Mishna.org has resources as does Sefaria,org or a Talmud volume of your choice.
